4. 4. 2016  

The Centre for Human Rights and Democracy created an analysis for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs themed, business and human rights in the Czech Republic. Andrea Bittnerová, Veronika Hermanová and Vojtěch Kyselý created a study under the leadership of Lukáš Hoder and Hubert Smekal. The study is called: “Current situation in the Czech Republic and the implementation of the UN General Principles on Business and Human Rights “.

3. 1. 2016  

The academic year 2014/2015 resulted in many professional articles, monographs and conference posts written and created by the members and associates of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy. You can find their overview in an annual report (in Czech).

18. 1. 2015  

Slovak Constitutional Court published a plenary finding in October which raised strong emotions in the Slovak society. It was related to a referendum, whose declaration was based on a petition of 408 000 citizens. These citizens agree with the referendum regarding the rights of sexual minorities. This theme is analysed in a study written by Martina Grochová.

2. 4. 2013  

The Czech Centre for Human Rights and Democracy and its members are involved in various research project and participate in academic human rights research on very professional level. The Centre itself worked on the shadow report on racism and discrimination in the Czech Republic then included in the shadow report of the European Network Against Racism, thus it represented the Czech Republic human rights research centres on European level.

Ľubomír Majerčík, Anna Matušinová and Hubert Smekal published a chapter called, “The Czech Republic and the European Court of Human Rights in 2011,” which appeared in the Czech Yearbook of Public and Private International Law. You can read the chapter here.

Helena Bončková and Hubert Smekal published an article called, “The fragmentation of common values? Opt-outs from the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights,” which was published in a journal “Contemporary Europe” (02/2010).
