Editor of the Human Rights Bulletin and the Czech Republic Human Rights Review

Pavel began his legal journey in Brno, where he received his master and PhD degree in law (Masaryk University) and started a first job as a legal clerk at the Office of the Public Defender of Rights. Here, he got a passion for human rights, especially the rights of detainees. Between 2019 and 2022 he got three postdoctoral fellowships in Taiwan, where he carried out research in the area of torture monitoring under the UN Convention against Torture. During these fruitful Taiwanese days, he has published several papers in international legal journals, taught at university and set up for a new journey of parenthood. Pavel is currently back home in Brno and works as a legal assistant at the Supreme Administrative Court.
